As an Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs, ensuring they reach their full potential. Responsibilities: Support the teacher in ensuring that classroom activities run smoothly, helping to maintain a productive and organised learning environment. Work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) by offering personalised assistance, either one-on-one or in small groups, to help them stay engaged and focused during lessons. Collaborate with the class teacher to plan lessons and modify learning materials so that they are tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of each student. Encourage and model positive behaviour, helping students develop good social skills and contributing to a harmonious classroom atmosphere. When necessary, provide assistance with personal care, ensuring that students' physical needs are met in a respectful and supportive manner. Act as a bridge between teachers, parents, and external professionals, ensuring that everyone involved in the student’s education is informed and aligned on their progress and needs. Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable. Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant would be a plus. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students. A proactive approach to work and problem-solving skills. Relevant qualifications (such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ) are desirable but not essential. To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should: Have the right to work in the UK. Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
