We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Clinical Coding Analyst ACC Band 6 plus 5% R&R at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. This is a remote post but we also have opportunities for hybrid working.
We offer flexible working and also have an in-house Clinical Coding Training and Audit team to support with future career development.
Main duties of the job
The candidate should hold the National Clinical Coding Qualification (ACC) and must be able to work to the highest degree of accuracy within a busy clinical coding department.
The Coding Team plays a critical role in ensuring that the clinical care received by the patients is accurately coded on the Trust PAS, working to strict deadlines to meet National Submission deadlines.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to ensuring the clinical coding teams deliver a quality coding service across the organisation by providing accurate and timely clinical coding in accordance with national standards and requirements of clinical coding.

Qualifications
* National Clinical Coding Qualification (ACC degree level)
* Coding Standards Course
* Clinical Coding Refresher training
* AMSPAR Medical Terminology Certificate
* ECDL
Experience/Knowledge
* Previous prolonged practical experience of working in a clinical coding setting using ICD10 & OPCS 4.7 in a large organisation
* Experience of using PAS and encoding software.
* Experience of delivering to deadlines
* Demonstrable and extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomical and physiological terms acquired through work-based experience.
* Excellent understanding of PbR & HRGs
* Understanding of the Data Protection act
* Use of PAS, Medicode, Clinical Applications.
* Familiarity with use of electronic patient record (EPR)
Skills
* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence a range of professionals
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a number of competing demands
* Ability to analyse and interpret complex medical information, attention to detail
* Ability to develop good working relationships with medical staff and other hospital staff at different levels.
* To work independently and as part of a team.
* Intermediate level keyboard skills in Excel/Word
