To undertake planned maintenance, installation, alterations, and repairs throughout the property. Also to oversee contracted and maintenance repair work.
The position will have a particular focus on plumbing; however, all-round maintenance skills will be required.
Role Specific Responsibilities
1. Work on own initiative to help solve problems which achieve the objectives of the work area, raising any issues with more senior staff.
2. To undertake reactive repairs to buildings and services, engineering systems within the scope and understanding of the role and using a range of hand tools and techniques.
3. To undertake planned maintenance to inspect and diagnose faults and repairs to the building, fabric, fixtures, fittings, equipment, systems and undertake remedial repairs.
4. To undertake periodic inspection and testing of engineering, monitoring, control, and functional systems and associated equipment.
5. Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance regime to the required schedule.
6. Maintain and take responsibility for plant rooms and carry out the necessary checks.
7. To plan and organise repair work.
8. To ensure that work is carried out to the specification, quality and timeliness required by the University.
9. To oversee contracted maintenance and repair work and servicing of equipment to ensure that the work is carried out to the specification, quality and timeliness required by the University.
10. To actively demonstrate a commitment to professional development by continuing to advance knowledge, understanding, and competencies.
