You will play a key client facing role. We are seeking a pro-active individual to join the team who loves attention to detail and thrives in a dynamic, busy environment. This role will suit an individual studying AAT, with experience in practice, wishing to join our team near Cheltenham. This is an office-based role.
What will you be doing:
1. Maintain the accounting records for a wide range of clients.
2. Prepare VAT Returns and assist with other accounting work.
3. Carry out bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients using Xero and Hubdoc.
4. Assist in the preparation of VAT Returns.
5. Scan and process invoices and receipts from Hubdoc to Xero.
6. Process client records on Xero.
7. Conduct bank account reconciliations.
8. Review client Xero ledgers.
9. Onboard new clients including compliance checks, due diligence, and setting up software for use by clients.
10. Process weekly and monthly payroll records to include pension returns.
11. Perform general finance administration tasks.
12. Maintain regular communications with clients.
What you’ll need:
* Study support will be provided for the right candidate looking to study AAT or equivalent and looking to complete an Accountancy Qualification, or someone suitably qualified by experience.
* Online Accounting software experience (essential), Xero (preferred).
* Bookkeeping experience to include sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
* UK based Accountancy Practice experience, at least 1 year.
* Flexible, motivated, and a pro-active team member, who can make a positive impact on the practice.
* Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
