As a Junior Merchandiser, you'll trade your department, seeking out sales opportunties and help the Merchandiser with defining the strategy and planning of future ranges.

2. Location: JD Group Head Office, Bury, Greater Manchester. BL9 8RR.
3. Working Hours - Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
What You'll Be Doing:
Planning:
4. Review Previous Seasons and produce SWOT Analysis with supporting information.
5. Create category level product mix using history, SWOT and SMT Plan.
6. With Senior Merchandiser formulate the space and grading plan for store distribution.
7. Ensure that the WSSI is updated with the buy plan and the KPI’s are signed off with the Senior merchandiser.
8. Ensure that scheduling and Ideals are in place for your area of responsibility.
9. Attend key selection meetings with the Senior merchandiser and Buyer
10. Build the Range plan
11. Build Layout plans in conjunction with buying and VM.
12. Overview the ratios for all buys in conjunction with Asst merchandiser
13. Ensure that the Buy matches the plan Buy
14. Establish working relationships with Supplier Base
15. Manage the order books both in season and preseason to ensure that the most accurate information is always in the system.
16. Manage the Stock seasonality within the WSSI.
Trading:
17. Reviews’ weekly trading performance and achieved KPI’s, identifying Issues and the course of action in preparation for the weekly trading meetings and submit to the senior merchandiser.
18. Propose and agree actions to recover risk and maximise opportunities with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer at category and line level.
19. Monthly – Capture all agreed actions in the monthly forecast reviews
20. Work up the forecast from category/Season level to Buyer Group
21. Meet and gain approval: Incorporating
22. Forecasting any sales variance to plan
23. Creation of OTB’s
24. Management of commitments – On time delivery, rebuys cancellations
25. Markdown proposals
26. Provide Retail with Rack List/Hit List through Merchandise Assistants.
27. Manage the range plan in Season reflecting any changes
28. Manage Linecards
29. Manage Intake at category and line level.
30. Visit and understand the store base on a regular basis. Create action plans to Optimise Store performance.
31. Manage the store option plans to ensure each store has the optimum amount of stock and neither too full or lacking key lines.
Teamwork:
32. Reporting to the Senior Merchandiser
33. Work with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer to deliver the plan
34. Guide and direct the Merchandising Team to help deliver the plan
35. With the Senior Merchandiser provide and monitor development plans for the Assistant Merchandiser / Merchandise Assistant on a regular basis
36. Communicate to the Retail Team anything that will impact on Stores performance
37. Establish working relationships with Store Operations, Visuals, Marketing, Finance DC etc.
