Mechanical Design Engineer - Innovate and Shape the Future of Renewable Energy
Lynx Recruitment is working with a dynamic and forward-thinking company in the renewable energy sector, dedicated to accelerating the world's transition to a 100% renewable future.
The mission is to provide cutting-edge testing services for battery cells and develop innovative temperature control cell test chambers.
They are seeking a talented and adaptable Mechanical Design Engineer to join the growing team and contribute to groundbreaking product development.
What You'll Do:
1. Design and develop bespoke cell testing fixtures for internal use and as a new product range for customers.
2. Collaborate with battery testing team and customers to define design specifications and requirements.
3. Create 3D CAD parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
4. Prototype and build designs in our workshop using 3D printers, CNC mill, and other machine tools.
5. Conduct design verification tests and provide solutions for continuous design improvements.
6. Create 2D CAD detail and assembly drawings and associated BOMs for manufacturing.
What You'll Have:
1. Degree in related science or engineering field, with experience in mechanical design, or 2+ years of design engineering experience.
2. Proven track record in designing and developing components into working devices and products.
3. Analytical and methodical approach to design verification and improvement.
4. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar).
5. Knowledge of rapid prototyping and manufacturing processes.
6. Solid understanding of design and engineering principles.
7. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team.

Location:
Office and labs are based in a beautiful countryside setting, with free parking, just outside Didcot, Oxfordshire. Local amenities include shops, a pub & easy access to the A34.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, on-site position. Working hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm (flexible), 37.5 hrs per week.
