We are proud to be partnering with an outstanding Primary School in Sunderland, seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils on Early Intervention Programmes.
This full-time role begins in January 2025 and will continue for the rest of the academic year. Pay is negotiable based on experience.
The successful candidate will support nursery and reception pupils with SEN and developmental disabilities, working both one-to-one and in small groups. This role requires a resilient practitioner with excellent relationship-building skills and a proactive approach.
Responsibilities
- Supporting nursery and reception pupils with SEN and developmental needs.
- Managing challenging behaviour positively and consistently.
- Collaborating with Class Teachers to plan and implement strategies that promote pupil progress.
- Preparing resources for learning activities.
- Supervising pupils during breaks and lunchtimes.
- Engaging positively with pupils to build rapport and support their learning.
- Liaising with parents and external agencies to discuss pupil progress as needed.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service, or willingness to process a new application).
- Recognised childcare-based qualification.
- Experience of supporting pupils in a school setting, ideally on a one-to-one basis.
- Resilience, positivity, and a proactive approach.
- High energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with pupils and staff.
