Key Responsibilities:
1. To meet a range of design challenges which include materials, bearings, and seals within a pressure envelope and liaise with a range of external sector experts in pursuit of that goal.
2. To appreciate the big picture, whilst isolating dependencies and rank each challenge and formulate a strategic and logical design progression.
3. The formation and refinement of solid models for FEA purposes and design assessment.
4. External calls to action through exacting BOMs and manufacturing drawings.
5. To take pride in and appreciate the benefits of ownership of your part of the product.
6. A strong influence over the entire product lifecycle, with an expectation to innovate, evolve, validate, appreciate, and support manufacturing challenges.
7. Working within the project plans and critical timescales.
Skills & Experience:
1. Masters degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering or related field.
2. Knowledge and demonstrable experience in the design of moving and rotating equipment.
3. A proven track record as a mechanical design engineer.
4. Excellence in 2D and 3D CAD, Autodesk Inventor is advantageous.
5. Experience of mechanical FEA and pressure vessel regulations a defined advantage.
6. The ability to contribute effectively within a dynamic and fast paced team environment.
7. Able to provide engineering input into technical reviews and meetings (internal & external).
8. An able communicator in verbal, written and presentation forms.
9. The ability to prioritise tasks and deliver associated outputs to meet business needs.
