Job Title - Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)
Site location - Nottingham
Responsible to - Project Director
Purpose of the role - As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will help breathe life into our clients' designs by creating mechanical design models and drawings. You will have the autonomy to design mechanical services in various sectors of the industry and will be client-facing, representing our client at all levels. You will also collaborate with architects, quantity surveyors, project managers, and structural engineers from external design teams.
Client brief - Our client is a well-established leading engineering and environmental consultancy in Building Services with offices throughout the UK and around the globe. Their welcoming and diverse team is working on some of the most prestigious and innovative projects in the UK and across the world. From sustainability-focused offices and commercial premises to cutting-edge healthcare facilities and from award-winning retail developments to major new residential communities, you will have the opportunity to play a major role in delivering schemes across a huge range of sectors.
KEY INFORMATION
Reason for vacancy - Continued growth
Contract - Permanent
Salary - GBP38,000 - GBP45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Holidays - 26 days + Bank Holidays rising to 31 days with loyalty days + BH
Hybrid - Yes, possible hybrid working of 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.

Qualifications, Experience, or Skills:
Although we are happy to consider applicants with more or less experience, you will ideally have qualifications, experience, or skills in the following areas:
* Have a relevant degree or equivalent for a career in building services engineering.
* You will be fluent in design software tools such as REVIT and ideally have had exposure to MagiCAD.
* You are a great communicator who can adapt to working with external parties and clients while integrating with our growing team.
* You will have a deep understanding of project needs and will be able to manage their full delivery.
* You will have recognized qualifications in mechanical services design and will either be working towards chartered status or have an interest in doing so.
* You are happy working both autonomously and as part of a team to support the delivery of projects.
* Experience of managing people would be an advantage.
* You are happy to be flexible - We take a collaborative approach to delivering our projects and you will be open to traveling and working with colleagues from across Waterman.
