Experienced Python/Django Developer sought for a small but successful web and bespoke software development studio in Norwich.
Our client, a 14-year-old company, has grown from providing web hosting and development to small businesses in Norfolk to a global customer base. They are looking for a talented Python Developer with commercial experience in Django and related libraries.
The successful candidate will work closely with the lead software architect to take complex projects from conception to deployment. They will require a wide-ranging skill set, including estimating project schedules accurately and consistently.
The company has delivered large-scale bespoke projects and offers a unique, laid-back working environment. Recent projects include App Development, hardware EPOS integration, CRM, and E-Commerce.
Responsibilities:
* Design and develop web and mobile applications with the small team.
* Ensure security, maintainability, scalability, and performance.
* Provide technical expertise in architecture, design, and implementation.
* Estimate project schedules accurately and consistently.
* Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends.
Required Skills:
* Minimum 2 years' commercial Python/Django experience.
* Experience with modern version control systems, e.g. git.
* Knowledge of common open-source databases, such as PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB.
* Understanding of modern architectures, including RESTful APIs and asynchronous queues.
* Ability to understand complex project requirements and translate them into smaller goals.
* Confidence in communicating with colleagues and clients.
Desirable Skills:
* Understanding of frontend design and development, including HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
* Experience with other common open-source Python libraries, including Django REST Framework and Celery.
* Experience with other backend frameworks and libraries, including NodeJS and SASS/Less.
* Experience with common Open Source web-servers, such as Apache2 and Nginx.
Salary up to £50,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
The right candidate will work from the company's offices, a 5-minute walk from the train station. Normal hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with flexibility for candidates and their families.
