Overview of role
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme
Salary: 40k
Shifts: Monday to Friday (1 day office-based, 4 days on the tools), plus out of hours on rota
As VMU Coordinator (Mechanic Supervisor), it is your responsibility to co-ordinate the day to day running of the vehicle maintenance unit & team in compliance with all legislative and company standards and procedures.
You’ll proactively lead and development your team to work safely, meet targets and continuously improve. You’ll ensure our fleet is maintained, and that annual MOT tests, Tachograph calibrations, LOLER inspections, Tool/Garage equipment inspections & calibrations are carried out to maximise fleet availability to support our busy logistics operations.
Ideally, you’ll hold an HGV Licence; however, we are keen to train candidates with mechanical and supervisory experience with lighter good vehicles.
This is a key role in a heavily audited and busy environment. A genuine enthusiasm for vehicle maintenance and leadership and management, coupled with a collaborative and logical approach is essential.
