Administrator (Transport) - Brigg - 6.00am to 2.30pm
Purpose of the role
To develop within a team proud to be defined by the quality of our products, the services we deliver, and the safe operating efficiency of our production processes. To support, motivate and focus on delivery of the production plan while maintaining safe operating standards at all times. Establish yourself as the functional specialist for your area of responsibility and provide knowledge and support to the delivery drivers.
Key Accountabilities
* Ensure all processes and activities are conducted in a safe manner in accordance with relevant company standards, policies, and procedures.
* Develop a culture of “right first time, every time” and ensure standards are met by forming a close working relationship within the delivery team.
* Effectively plan, schedule, and optimize routes for the company’s delivery team across the UK using the in-house job management system.
* Book appropriate overnight accommodation for delivery drivers as needed.
* Work closely with the sales office to maximize utilization and find quick solutions to non-standard delivery requests.
* Collaborate with the loading team to ensure delivery dates are met with minimum disruption.
* Provide support for internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the transport team.
* Act as a point of contact for drivers, providing support with queries and achieving positive outcomes for customers.
* Provide holiday and sickness cover for the transport team.
* Take ownership of the department and work with the Transport Manager to meet business needs and transport regulations.
* Maintain accurate records for KPI’s and business needs for the transport department.
* Promote positive behavior and lead by example, motivating the driving and loading team.
Required Behaviours
* A forward-thinking individual who is computer literate using Microsoft packages.
* Demonstrates good communication and organizational skills.
* Reliable and responsible with the ability to work under self-guidance while displaying high levels of integrity.
* Adaptable to daily changes and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of the UK road system or postcode areas is advantageous.
Professional Qualifications
* Educated to A level or equivalent experience.
* Computer skills.
* CPC modules in driver hours advantageous but can be undertaken.
