Resource Planning Advisor
Open to GTUK location + hybrid working

The Central Talent and Capacity team incorporates a team of Managers, Assistant Managers, and Advisors who work nationally across all Grant Thornton offices to support practice teams to mobilise personnel to deliver client work. The Central Talent and Capacity team plays a pivotal role in helping the firm to achieve operational excellence and its business objectives, by ensuring optimal utilisation of resources. The role involves working on a diverse set of activities throughout the day in a fast-paced environment. As the remit of the team grows to provide this support service to additional departments in GT UK, an exciting opportunity exists for someone who is seeking to pursue a fulfilling career in resource management.

A look into the role
As a Central Talent and Capacity Advisor, within our team, you will:
* Work in a professional service environment, supporting practice colleagues with resourcing solutions.
* Manage a large pool of resources split across offices nationally, in a variety of service lines, working closely with senior stakeholders and interacting with junior team members.
* Utilize Excel reporting to provide MI insights and use a resource scheduling system, with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office business tools.
* Implement processes to high-quality standards.
* Demonstrate excellent analytical and communication skills.

Joining us as a Central Talent and Capacity Advisor, the minimum criteria you’ll need is prior experience of working in a professional services environment, with some understanding of scheduling, resource planning, or capacity management roles preferred.
It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box; we’ll help you develop along the way:
* Work as part of the Central Talent & Capacity Team to ensure effective resource deployment to meet quality and utilisation goals aligned to the firm’s business plan.
* Have a positive attitude and the ability to use your own initiative.
* Have a proven track record of working as a team and independently.
* Manage multiple tasks and processes in a fast-paced environment.
* Possess excellent communication skills, developed through regular interaction with senior management and key business stakeholders.
* Work to deadlines and SLAs without compromising the integrity and accuracy of data.
* Strive to maximise utilisation and optimise employment spend nationally.
* Manage the optimisation of supply and demand across geographies, reporting regularly to management.
* Provide clarity and challenge around resource allocation, with support from management where appropriate.
* Work effectively with a range of stakeholders across the business in both operational and strategic capacities.
* Carry out a range of administrative and reporting tasks to support the team.
* Act with integrity and in line with our organisational values.
