Buyer – Wakefield - £30,000 - £35,000 We have a great opportunity for an experienced Buyer to work in a leading manufacturing company within their purchasing team. The Buyer performs a functional role in a regional setting to support the Wakefield site with purchasing service strategy. This position will focus on the procurement of raw materials, semi-finished or finished goods and services from external sources of supply and will work to mitigate, or elevate where necessary, supplier quality, cost, and delivery issues. Buyer Duties: Identify and source suppliers for required materials, components and equipment, considering factors such as price, quality, availability, and reliability Conduct thorough market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new suppliers Collaborate with internal stakeholders Monitor and track supplier performance, addressing any issues or concerns promptly to maintain a reliable supply chain Analyse inventory levels, usage patterns and demand forecasts to optimise stock levels and minimise excess or obsolete inventory Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements during the procurement process Participate in supplier development activities, such as supplier audits and performance improvement initiatives Participate in monthly spot checks Hours: Full time Monday – Friday (Flexi time) Benefits: 23 days holiday bank holidays (rising with years of service) Life cover (3 x salary) Pension Free onsite parking Internal development opportunities Required skills & experience: 3 years' experience in procurement Prior experience within the manufacturing industry Able to build strong relationships internally and externally If you would like to discuss this Buyer role in more detail, then do get in touch with Lewis at Elevation Recruitment Group now
