Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive educational environment. The position is in a specialist school for pupils aged between 5-16, with all pupils having complex SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
* Support both individual students and small groups, supporting their academic and personal development.
* Prepare the classroom for lessons and ensure a positive learning environment.
* Monitor and report on students' progress to the teacher or designated staff member.
* Provide targeted support to children with specific educational needs, ensuring their individual development plans are followed.
* Promote self-confidence, independence and social interaction among students.
* Supervise children during break and lunch periods.
* Uphold school policies regarding child protection, behaviour management and equal opportunities.
What We're Looking For:
* A compassionate and patient individual with a passion for education.
* Experience working with children with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* An individual with the ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
