Here's what you'll be doingAs an intern with EEM UK's 'Costing & Risk' team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of our forecasting processes. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, develop, and streamline the architecture for incorporating risk into our existing 'Forecast Store' database. This involves the creation of Snowflake tables, queries, and associated upload tools, along with comprehensive documentation.Responsibilities:Assess and develop a clear architecture for integrating risk into the 'Forecast Store' database.Create Snowflake tables, queries, and upload tools for efficient risk incorporation.Develop a comprehensive understanding of various elements in our customer's energy cost stack, assessing uncertainties, and understanding commercial pricing strategies.Contribute to the improvement of forecasting accuracy and efficiency.The 'Costing & Risk' team focuses on forecasting network and policy charges for UK supply businesses. Currently, the team stores all Expected Value (EV) forecasts in the Snowflake-hosted 'Forecast Store' database, while risk is stored separately. Your role will involve automating the integration of risk into 'Forecast Store' outputs, reducing operational risk and time consumption.Implement a solution where both EV and risk levels are stored in the 'Forecast Store,' allowing for the automatic generation of rates for Pricing teams, incorporating the risk element.
