Qualified Social Worker – Fostering
Location: Kent
Pay: £38 per hour
We are looking for experienced and passionate Social Workers to join a dedicated Fostering Team - Connected Carers. In this role you will m anage a caseload within a framework of appropriate reflective supervision, undertaking focused, analytical assessments, prepare SMART care plans and reviews that have clear objectives and outcome measures in order to ensure that all looked after children receive a service that reflects the Council’s commitment to achieving positive outcomes for our children looked after.
You will work with children and families in a variety of diverse and complex contexts, such as mental ill health, disability, substance misuse, domestic abuse, sexual and criminal exploitation, radicalisation, poverty, discrimination, and immigration. Using the Signs of Safety practice model in assessments and interventions with looked after children, their families and their carers. Delivering training to these carers as required.
In this role you will work with Special Guardians, connected carers and children placed in connected carer arrangements, assessing their support needs, providing support as appropriate, and making ASF applications to deliver specialist therapeutic support. Assess, plan, use evidence based analytical practice to implement and evaluate safeguarding measures to ensure all children are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

You will keep up to date with the Council’s organisational policies, government guidance, legislation, research and national trends in order to maintain the highest professional standards.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, informed by the values and principles of social care; you will be supporting in the delivery of person centred, safe and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience you’ll make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills you’ll establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.
Perfect candidate will be:
1. Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
2. Experienced in working with children and families including those from vulnerable groups.
3. Creative, flexible and forward thinking in approach.
4. Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and understanding of child protection issues.
5. Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for children.
6. Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
7. Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans
8. Committed to providing our service users with a high-quality service
9. Experienced in working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency basis
10. 4 Years plus Qualified
In this role you will:
11. Use skills, knowledge, and experience to make full assessment of risks protection and social care needs.
12. Manage an agreed case load.
13. Use specialist communication skills to achieve optimum outcomes for service users.
14. Devise individual care plans, taking account of diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment.
15. Offer advice and support to unqualified staff and students to assist development.
