The Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services is an innovative partnership of NHS pathology services, established to provide excellent pathology services for clinicians and their patients in the area. It provides pathology services in a wide variety of settings, serving our founding Trusts, other NHS and private hospitals and primary care organizations.
A vacancy has arisen for a HCPC Registered Band 7 BMS to work in the Biochemistry department at East Surrey Hospital. The candidate must have a post graduate qualification, MSc or FIBMS and significant experience in all areas of Chemical Pathology.
The department is approved by the Institute of Biomedical Sciences as a training laboratory.
The department provides a 24/7 service coverage and operates a 24-hour shift system, split into early, core, late, night, weekend day and night. The post holder may be required to participate in the Out of Hours shifts.
We are looking for a team player with in-depth knowledge in chemical pathology, good supervisory and time management skills who can contribute to the ongoing development of the biochemistry department. Evidence of competencies and knowledge will be required at interview.
Please be advised that this post is subject to a 6 month probationary period.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, worked flexibly between 08:00 - 08:00.
