About You:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work for a fantastic company! We are seeking an experienced maintenance operative to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a diverse set of skills and experience to complete a range of tasks. A vehicle and fuel card are provided, along with trade cards to ensure that tasks can be performed efficiently and effectively.
Role Responsibilities:
* A keen eye on value for money.
* Responsible for the general maintenance, decoration, and upkeep of residential and supported living services within a defined geographic area, including minor electrical and plumbing works.
* Work efficiently and independently or as part of a team, depending on requirements.
* Planned maintenance works.
* Travel between services to undertake works.
* Check emails daily, prioritise and respond to emergencies.
* Ensure all work is completed to a high standard.
* Communicate positively with all managers and respond to their requests verbally in a prompt manner.
* Ensure health and safety of self, co-workers, and clients is upheld for all tasks and duties.
* Carry out tasks if they fall within the remit of professional competence and boundaries.
* Communicate effectively with line manager and facilities support co-ordinator.
* Ensure CAFM system is maintained and updated.
* Ensure the upkeep of all houses is to a high specification.
* Maintain the van allocated and ensure the vehicle is safe to drive before any journey.
* Ensure storage garage is kept tidy, locked, and secure at all times.
The main skills and experience for this role:
Essential:
* Previous experience in a maintenance role.
* UK Driving Licence.
* Willing to travel to properties in a defined geographic area.
* Be willing to do 1 week out of 5 on-call rota, for which an additional payment is made.
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic & flexible.
* Strong communication skills.
* Honesty, reliability, trustworthiness, and a passion to make a difference.
* Commitment to the aims and objectives of the home and of Ivolve.
* Satisfactory enhanced DBR check.
Desirable:
* Previous experience within a social care setting.
