Please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification. To provide guidance, support and professional leadership to all nursing staff in with regards to cancer service provision. Be responsible and accountable for the delivery of a high quality, patient centred cancer services across the Trust that meet the needs of the patient. To act as a positive role model through the provision of effective professional leadership for relevant clinical areas, maintaining high visibility through undertaking activities such as clinical practice or observations of care. To encourage communication with patients, visitors and staff and through observations of practice and monitoring of standards ensure the maintenance of an optimal environment for patient care. To provide leadership for change and service improvement within all cancer areas, through the promotion of nursing as a profession within the multi-disciplinary environment. Lead the implementation of the cancer strategy in relation to nursing care across the Trust involving representatives from all stakeholder groups. To act as a champion of the nursing cancer workforce and to proactively support and review this resource. Engage with appropriate agencies as a nursing leader in the development of innovative cancer nursing and Allied Health Professionals (AHP) strategy. Establish and develop partnerships and collaborate with lead professionals representing the AHPs ensuring that a patient-centred multidisciplinary approach to care is maintained across the Trust. Identify national, regional, cancer alliance and trust priorities, leading and supporting Trust implementation from a nursing perspective. To liaise closely with other Head of/Lead Cancer Nurses within the East of England Cancer Alliance to implement policies, strategies, guidelines and initiatives related to national and regional cancer agenda.
