Job summary The role of the Safeguarding Administrator is to support the delivery of the Designated Professionals and Safeguarding team, and in turn, supports the statutory and non-statutory functions of NHS Cheshire and Merseyside and Liverpool area. The post will require close working with colleagues across the local health and social care sector to: Deliver key objectives. Work as the part of the safeguarding team supporting the development of systematic process and structure that will assure quality, and commit to enabling safeguarding and the quality improvements for children, children in public care, adult safeguarding and the processes around Mental Capacity Act- Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. Provide a comprehensive administrative service to the Associate Director of Safeguarding, Designated Professionals, Named GPs, the wider Safeguarding team. Provide and coordinate administrative and secretarial services; including, for example, the preparation of agendas and taking minutes, taking appropriate follow-up action as required. Manage internal systems and tracking processes for a range of statutory functions eg Domestic Homicide Reviews, Child Death systems, children looked after by local authorities etc. Support the team with the management of projects, gathering information and dealing with enquires. Liaise effectively and professionally with all levels of staff, external organisations and the public, dealing with confidential information in an appropriate manner Main duties of the job Provide a comprehensive administrative service to the Designated Professionals and Safeguarding Team for efficient and effective support for all its activities. Promote and establish strong working relationships with colleagues and multi-agency partners, to support and improve the efficiency of information exchanges across partnerships. Act as a point of contact for the safeguarding team; dealing with and responding to telephone or other queries effectively. Ensuring covering arrangements are in place for the telephones in the event of absence. Work together with other administrators within NHS Cheshire and Merseyside to provide an effective network of communication, including dealing with visitors to the bases and being flexible to cover other administrative duties required across the bases. Provide day to day administrative support to the team. Develop effective electronic filing systems to ensure information is kept securely and is accessible to relevant members of the team under the Information Governance Policy and procedures. Assist the Designated Professionals and Safeguarding Team with the production of reports, including assurance reports where required.
