Civil and Environmental Engineering is currently seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to join an exciting project at the University of Liverpool, focusing on CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) modelling, with an emphasis on Lattice-Boltzmann methods for simulating water-air interfaces interacting with a floating rigid device. The research is part of the SMARTGEN project, which aims to develop an innovative wave energy generation and vessel recharging technology to accelerate the decarbonization of coastal areas and green corridors. You should have experience of Lattice-Boltzmann methods or other CFD techniques and also be familiar with OpenLB or other CFD software packages. This post is available from 1 January 2025 until 31 May 2025. You should have a PhD in Engineering or a related field with expertise in CFD modelling, fluid dynamics, or similar. If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
