Job Description
The Behaviour Support Assistant will work closely with students to provide support in managing challenging behaviours, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Duties include implementing behaviour management strategies, assisting in the development and implementation of individual behaviour plans, and supporting students in their social and emotional development.
Minimum Requirements
1. A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field
2. Experience working with children or young people with behavioural difficulties
3. Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies
4. Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
7. Additional training in behaviour management or special educational needs
8. Experience working in a school or educational setting
9. First aid certification
The Behaviour Support Assistant will primarily work within a school setting, collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals. The role may involve dealing with challenging behaviour and emotional situations. The assistant will need to be flexible in their approach and have a compassionate and patient demeanour.
