We have an exciting new opportunity for a Safeguarding & Vulnerable Persons Coordinator who will work within the Neighbourhood Services team to deliver the overall responsibility for services to our Vulnerable customers. The role is full time, 37 hours per week with a salary of £31,570 per annum. The role will be responsible for managing high risk safeguarding and vulnerable persons cases, this includes Domestic abuse cases, across the Ocean Group. It will involve providing a customer focused service of reviewing and managing of safeguarding cases and to be a leader and driver both internally and externally of safeguarding and vulnerable persons. The role will work closely with key stakeholders inc GP's, Community Mental Health, Children Services, Adult Social Care, Age UK and First Light and would also attend MARAC, MAPPA and other statutory meetings on behalf of Ocean Housing Ltd. Further key specific responsibilities will also include: Ensure safeguarding referrals are made promptly, efficiently and that outcomes are recorded Be the lead source of advice and guidance on safeguarding adults, children and domestic abuse Appropriately appeal any safeguarding referrals that are declined, but we believe meets the safeguarding/MARU threshold Deal with cause for concerns CFC’s that are referred to the Neighbourhood services team within the specified timescales For further information regarding the specific responsibilities please refer to the Job Description attached You will educated to A level or equivalent Level 3 qualification and be prepared to undertake relevant training to meet operational need and further knowledge base. It is desirable you will hold Safeguarding Level 2 Training but it is not essential. You will have detailed understanding of the Care Act 2025, Mental Capacity Act 2025, Children Act 2024, Human Right Act 1998 and the Domestic Abuse Act 2021. You will have experience in understanding the safeguarding thresholds & completing safeguarding referrals for both Adults and Children and of managing high risk cases where there is a risk to a person/s suffering injury or death. You will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills which will enable you to communicate effectively in an accurate and timely manner. Be able to work on your own initiative whilst managing your own personal safety but are able to know when to reach out to colleagues or a manager if support is required.
