What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of the company's product offerings. Your key responsibilities include:
Innovative Design: Develop and enhance mechanical designs from initial concept to final implementation, utilising cutting-edge tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Technical Documentation: Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly instructions, and comprehensive design specifications.
Manufacturing Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to ensure designs are effectively realised and manufacturing processes are optimised.
Product Data Management: Maintain accurate product definitions and oversee the database of components and assemblies.
Quality and Compliance: Review and approve engineering changes, manage concessions for nonconforming products, and address in-service product issues.
Problem Resolution: Conduct risk assessments, investigate safety incidents, and compile failure analysis reports to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
To excel in this role, you should have:
Qualifications and Experience: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience (minimum 3 years) in heavy or rotating equipment design.
CAD Proficiency: Expertise in 2D and 3D design software; experience with AutoCAD and Inventor is advantageous.
Analytical Skills: A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, capable of solving complex technical challenges.
