We are looking for versatile, enthusiastic individuals to join our Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry teams to support us on our improvement and transformation journey.

You must be registered with a licence to practice with the GMC with a CCT in General Adult Psychiatry, or Old Age Psychiatry, or MRCPsych or a recognised equivalent. All applicants must have Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician Status when taking up this post.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be based at Parklands Hospital, Basingstoke and will be responsible for providing clinical care, RC responsibility and treatment for up to 12 patients per WTE post spread between 2 newly refurbished single-sex 18-bedded acute wards (Cherry ward - female and Juniper ward - male) as well as providing clinical leadership to the team.
This inpatient role stands out from other acute psychiatric inpatient roles currently advertised because of the favourable ratio of medical time per patient. The post-holder will have a maximum of 12 inpatients at any point in time. They will have the support of a middle-grade doctor (Specialty Doctor) as well as several resident doctors at different levels of experience (1 FY doctor, 1 T doctor and 1 SpR). The roles available are for a full-time role on the female ward, working alongside a part-time substantive colleague, as well as a part-time role on the male ward, working alongside a full-time substantive colleague.

Qualifications
* Full Registration with the General Medical Council
* MRCPsych or recognised equivalent
* Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview
* CCT in general adult psychiatry
* Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
