Job Title: Senior Compliance Officer
Key Relationships: Compliance Manager, Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Teams, Executive Management Teams, Underwriters, Finance, Internal Audit, Culture & People, Data Management, Risk Management.
Job Summary: To provide regulatory compliance assistance and assurance across the business as it grows in size and complexity. Particular focus on supporting the Compliance Manager with the strategic management of Consumer Duty and second line Conduct Risk alongside managing UK regulatory relationships. Support the Global Compliance function, as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the development and maintenance of relationships with key regulators, assisting with regulatory reviews and ensuring follow-up actions are addressed.
* Understand regulatory requirements, particularly surrounding the implementation of Consumer Duty, and assist with the delivery of regulator attestations and actions.
* Support in handling regulatory enquiries from regulators, ensuring prompt and appropriate responses.
* Support the business on first line Conduct Risk related queries working closely with the Conduct Risk team, including any related to delegated authority arrangements.
* Inform and advise the business of Conduct and Consumer Duty changes to regulations.
* Support the drafting of Conduct Review Group reports and Conduct related information to committees and Boards.
* Contribute, coordinate, and submit regulatory returns.
* Obtain a good understanding of the regulatory requirements applicable to the organisation in terms of oversight of compliance with existing legislation and identification of emerging legislation.
* Establish and maintain highly effective relationships with other Business stakeholders and act as the Compliance Conduct Risk champion, in the spirit of continuous improvement and to ensure effective compliance information sharing across the business.
* Support the Compliance Manager and wider Compliance team to maintain our Compliance Framework.
* Provide ad hoc compliance advice to all functions within Beazley, covering everyday queries, corporate projects, and business initiatives.
* Support the Compliance team to maintain and review the Compliance policies and relevant underlying procedural documents.
* Work with the business to ensure that the organisation’s procedures and policies are relevant, appropriate, and comply with the relevant regulations.
* Assist second line assurance in identifying areas for compliance review and providing support throughout the review process, where necessary.
* Conduct tailored training with relevant business areas and provide input into system-based regulatory and conduct training content.
* Represent the Regulatory Affairs and Conduct Risk team at internal Global Compliance meetings.
* Represent the Compliance function in required Project Working Groups, contributing to ensure the project progresses within agreed timeframes, enabling the business to meet its strategic objectives.
* Assist with the preparation of compliance papers to support the organisation’s governance structure.
* Provide regular progress updates both written and verbally to the Global Head of Compliance.
