Purpose: The purpose of this job is to assure that goods are delivered accurately and punctually in good condition as expected by the customer. This includes dealing with customers, staff from all branches, monitoring the loading and offloading of transfers, and ensuring that the delivery vehicle is in good condition by performing daily check-ups of the vehicle and providing excellent customer service. This will result in customer satisfaction and generate sales, promoting the business and creating sustainable growth and profit margins.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide excellent customer service.
2. Complete daily trip sheets (opening/closing km, departure/arrival times).
3. Perform a daily pre-trip inspection of your vehicle to ensure basic roadworthy standards (indicating on trip sheet).
4. Report any defects on your vehicle to your Supervisor (completing a vehicle repair report).
5. Ensure that the truck assistants are with the truck at all times.
6. Plan and ensure the most efficient route to your customer.
7. Ensure all outgoing stock has the relevant documentation before being loaded.
8. Ensure all transferred documents are recorded in your logbook.
9. Ensure the transfer logbook is signed by the branch receiving the stock.
10. Ensure all stock is delivered in excellent condition.
11. Hand in weekly evaluation reports to your Supervisor.
12. Report any delays at branches to your Supervisor.
13. Report to your Supervisor at the end of the day.
14. Participate in perpetual stock takes.
15. Perform any work-related tasks delegated by your superior.
Requirements
1. Matric or x3 completed Intercept courses equating to a total of 120 credits.
2. Candidates without Matric who have a valid license and 3 years of driving experience will be considered for the position.
3. Code 10 Drivers License (higher code would be an advantage).
4. PDP (Public Driving Permit: Goods and Passengers).
5. Minimum 3 years of driving experience.
6. Ability to handle pressure.
7. Monitoring skills.
8. Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
9. Ability to read and communicate at a high level.
10. Must understand the loading of vehicles.
11. Planning, time management, and organizing skills.
