You will be responsible for the delivery of the Health Board's Women and Family services which includes Childrens Community paediatric services, Health Visiting, School Nursing, Women's Health and Sexual Health Services and Midwifery Services. We are looking for an individual passionate about Women's Health and about ensuring that children and young people have the best start in life. You will need to work in partnership with multiple stakeholders, focussing on population health and reducing health inequalities. Main duties of the job The Director of Midwifery and Family Health is a key role in Powys Teaching Health Board. Responsible and accountable for the strategic direction of Women, Children and Family Services, providing expert strategic and clinical leadership, responsible for both operational and professional leadership and delivery. Actively lead and contribute to the formulation of long-term, strategic plans to inform operational delivery, ensuring effective implementation and monitoring. This will include effective Quality Governance arrangements to ensure that Women, Childrens and Family Services are quality driven, enabled by a robust Quality Management System. Set high clinical standards and meet regulatory requirements for the delivery of the Women's & Family Services Directorate for the Health Board. Lead the Directorate to drive the service to achieve the best possible outcomes for service users ensuring that care is delivered in line with the quality standards 2023 (Safe, Timely,Effective, Efficient, equitable and Person-Centred) always striving for excellence within budgetary requirements. Lead a Women and Family Health Service that is focused on population health,recognising the wider determinants of health and maximising the opportunities for health and well-being, in particular focusing on Early Years and reducing health inequalities.
