About the Role: A dedicated special needs school in Birmingham is seeking a passionate KS3 Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role requires a compassionate individual who can contribute to a supportive learning environment, conducting assessments and providing tailored assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting the social, emotional, and mental health needs of KS3 students.
* Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom displays.
* Providing one-on-one and small group support to students.
* Collaborating within the SEMH department.
* Demonstrating flexibility, proactivity, and patience.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience or strong interest in supporting students with SEMH.
* Nurturing and compassionate approach.
* Effective team communication skills.
Essential Requirements:
* Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant SEN experience.
* Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
* PECS and Makaton experience (desirable).
* Valid Enhanced DBS check (or subscription to the update service).
* Valid Photo ID (driving license or passport).
* Recent, verifiable school-based references.
* Level 1 Safeguarding Certificate.
