You will have support to obtain a professional qualification (Chartered Engineer or Chartered Transport Planning Professional) and become a member of relevant professional body, e.g. Chartered Institute of Highways and Transport (CIHT), Transport Planning Society (TPS), Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE). You will have access to regular workshops and seminars tailored to signing off the core objectives as part of the Chartership process.Our wider civil engineering discipline delivers for a multitude of schemes to include; Highways, Urban Infrastructure, and Transportation. You will have the opportunity to work on an array of projects across a variety of sectors to include healthcare, education, residential, commercial, leisure and defence.As a Graduate Transport Engineer, you will be responsible for:Assisting with writing Transport Statements\/Assessments and Travel Plans, and other transport studiesAssisting with preparing reports and assessments to support the design of active travel and other highway\/transport schemesObtaining data, including commissioning traffic and parking surveys, with supervisionUndertaking analysis and calculations, with supervisionPreparing mapping, drawings and reports, in accordance with design guidance and best practice, with supervisionResearching and summarising planning and transport policiesAssisting in the management of projects including having a financial understandingAssisting with on-site survey work when requiredEnsuring you understand and comply with all Health & Safety requirements, practices and proceduresAbout YouWe are looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Graduate who is open to a fantastic opportunity to develop their career.Our ideal Graduate Transport Engineer will:Be working towards a Degree in Transport Planning\/Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geography or other relevant subject.2:1 level or above is preferableHave experience using GIS software, TRICS, Junctions11, LinSig, AutoCAD - DesirableBe a confident verbal communicator with strong communication skillsIt would be good for you to have:An understanding of transport planning, including current policy and guidanceGood Microsoft and other software skillsClarity and confidence in communication, both in writing and verballyExperience of collating, analysing and presenting dataGood teamwork skillsSelf-motivated and driven for progressive and continued learningAbility to work to deadlines and manage time with multiple tasksAbout UsAt Pick Everard, we work together to make the extraordinary a reality.
