Our client, an expanding electronics manufacturing business in a period of rapid expansion, seeks to appoint an Electronics Technician in a varied role. This role is split between working on site to support the team with assembling circuits, building and modifying prototypes, and testing products before they are delivered to site. You will then travel to site and assist the customer's engineering team with the installation of the products. You'll be joining an established market leader with a talented electronics team to learn from. You must have an electrical/electronic engineering qualification, experience working for an electronics manufacturer in a practical shop-floor focused role building, assembling, and testing electronic systems, and the willingness to travel to customer locations when required.
Electronics Technician - Role and Responsibilities
1. Provide technician support for the electronic engineering team, tackling a variety of tasks under engineer supervision.
2. Assemble and modify printed circuit boards in preparation for installation on site with the customer.
3. Conduct performance, thermal and EMC tests on prototypes and finished products, writing detailed test reports.
4. Evaluate new and alternative electronic components.
5. Assist with the introduction of new designs into production.
Electronics Technician - Skills and Abilities
1. A recognised technological qualification (electrical and electronic engineering preferred).
2. Experience working for an electronics manufacturing business in an engineering-focused role.
3. Ability to understand electronic circuit schematics and the basic function of standard components.
4. A clean driving licence and the willingness to travel.
