Halton Borough Council is looking for passionate and dedicated Children's Social Workers to join our Duty & Assessment Team. Responsibilities
1. Respond promptly to referrals, conducting robust assessments of children's needs and risks.
2. Develop and implement clear and effective plans to ensure children's safety and well-being.
3. Work in partnership with families, professionals, and agencies to deliver coordinated support.
4. Prepare high-quality reports for case conferences, court proceedings, and other professional forums.
5. Ensure statutory duties are met in line with relevant legislation and policies.
6. Maintain accurate and timely case records, adhering to confidentiality and data protection guidelines.
Qualifications
Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
Experience
Proven experience in a Duty & Assessment role or similar, with a strong understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and multi-agency working.
Skills
Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Knowledge
Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and other statutory guidance.
