Please note: This role is part time; your contracted hours will be 26 hours. The advertised salary will be pro rata as the vacancy is part time.
As a Business Continuity Specialist, you will drive the development and implementation of processes that ensure DVLA’s resilience in the face of challenges. This includes providing assurance on the effectiveness of the Agency’s Corporate Business Continuity Management Framework.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Corporate Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), delivering robust risk management strategies, and ensuring alignment with ISO22301 standard. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous development of the Operational Risk Framework by identifying gaps and recommending improvements to processes, procedures, resilience, and Business Continuity Plans.
You will also assist in the delivery of the Corporate Business Continuity programme, which ensures the Agency has a comprehensive BCMS in place for effective Business Continuity Planning. Working closely with key stakeholders, you will ensure our plans are practical, tested, and continuously improved to mitigate risks. Your work will contribute to safeguarding our operations and maintaining confidence in our ability to adapt and recover from disruptions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Assisting the facilitation and coordination of Gold, Silver and Bronze Incident Management to manage exercises and live incidents
* Producing accurate monthly Management Information of Business Impact Assessments/BC Risk/Business Continuity Plans compliance reports and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) data to highlight vulnerabilities, unrealistic or misaligned RTOs.
* Collaborating with Business Continuity plan owners and Co-ordinators providing customer service to maintain and continuously improve awareness and business relationships
* Developing and delivering awareness training for staff involved in Business Continuity activities to improve their knowledge and understanding.
