Store Clerk Peterborough Twelve-month JOB PURPOSE: To assist Engineers and Technicians throughout all GED functions be ready to conduct their technical investigations of current and future product, components, materials. JOB DUTIES: Following Instruction from Engineers, Logistics, Operational areas, carry out all aspects of stores related work regarding, Receiving, Driving, Unloading, Progressing, Packing & Shipping / Reshipping of parts (internally). Dealing with Suppliers, Customers & Engineers & using electronic systems to book, control, and track items. Receive, check, and sign for all material as delivered from suppliers, (both internal and external) Investigate, resolve and report out on all queries relating to stores material or delivered items. Carry out a weekly Inventory Accuracy Check to check stock levels whilst maintaining Sarbanes Oxley compliance Be trained and competent (to the level of “Informed person”) to enable safe handling EV battery modules Carry out basic Inspection functions where requested, (Part quantities / rust / damage to components (blocks, heads cranks, bearings) on as received parts. Use of EE, Test Manager and other related systems to be able to fulfil job role transactions including booking in / out and tracking of items, special instructions, works order progress and inventory status. Collaboration with main site Obsolescence Team, working through monthly reports with the appropriate areas to find and remove all identified obsolete material As per engineers’ instructions pick full engine build, battery kits, for prototype engines, as required from pick sheets provided, identifying/labelling items, following specific packing and layout instructions, problem solving and raising queries with the engineers where required Operation and stock control of Kardex (electronically controlled multi shelved and location storage system) and perform basic maintenance tasks. Flexible with the ability to rotate between all store’s functions where appropriate (Stores, goods in, Goods delivery, be a project subject matter expert for process improvements) Be involved in or Lead small Projects to improve process flow, the working environment and best handling or storage solutions. Assisting with resourcing and procurement of any new/replacement items Collaborate with all campus stores functions regarding movement of engines / parts Collaborate with on campus suppliers to order and obtain consumable items Progress the daily workload through stores to appropriate areas responding rapidly to any urgent requests Progress material around GED-UK, the Peterborough Campus driving FLT, Flatbed truck, or other handling equipment that is appropriate for the task Delivery and collection of items from external storage facilities, including maintaining location records Ensure “free issue” stores item stations and out of hours stores locations within GED-UK are maintained and replenished using stock control systems Exposure to requests from people from all levels within the business Ensure Safe Working practices are always adhered to, raising and being involved in resolving issues as they arise Collect and disposal of waste from the building to the appropriate areas, scrap yard locations etc, taking appropriate measures where waste is contaminated or dangerous Keep working areas, within the section clean and tidy, including perimeter Carry out any other duties that may be required from time to time Manning stores hatch throughout the shift for consumable items Compiling and distributing reports regarding stock accuracy, part locations etc. BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: Previous Stores experience is required along with a counterbalance (F.L.T) truck license and full UK driving license. The incumbent for the role is required to have great attention to detail, ability to communicate by various means due to regular exposure with customers and be flexible with a willingness to work shifts and overtime where required. An ability to work under own initiative but contribute to team success is key and must work safely adhering to Company safety policies and procedures.
