Exciting Opportunity in Nottingham City’s Children in Need / Child Protection Team!
Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker dedicated to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable children and families? Nottingham City Council is seeking a committed professional to join our Children in Need / Child Protection Team, ensuring the safety and well-being of children at risk.
About the Role:
As a Social Worker in this team, you will play a key role in assessing risk, developing intervention plans, and working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to promote positive outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake assessments and interventions for children in need and those subject to child protection plans.
2. Develop and implement child protection and care plans in line with the Children Act 1989.
3. Conduct risk assessments and provide timely safeguarding responses.
4. Work in partnership with families, schools, healthcare providers, and multi-agency teams.
5. Prepare and present reports for case conferences and court proceedings.
6. Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding responsibilities.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Qualified Social Worker (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent) and registered with Social Work England.
2. Experience in child protection, safeguarding, and risk assessment.
3. Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance, and other relevant legislation.
4. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to manage a caseload effectively in a hybrid working environment.
