Position Overview As a Sales Engineer, you will serve as a trusted global technical advisor, bridging the gap between our Sales, Product, Engineering Teams and Customers. Your expertise in streaming and OTT video technologies, combined with your ability to build trust and credibility, will play a crucial role in helping clients understand and adopt our Contribution, Streaming and Direct-to-Consumer solutions. You will craft tailored technical solutions, deliver impactful demonstrations, and build strong technical relationships that enable MediaKind to deliver against our business objectives. Key Responsibilities Consult with clients to assess technology needs, system requirements, and business objectives. Act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on how our solutions align with and can help solve our customers challenges to drive their business needs. Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations, demonstrations, and proprosal submissions (RFXs) to showcase our products and services. Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Product teams to create tailored solutions that meet customer needs while aligning with our business goals. Balance client needs with our technology stack, ensuring the right fit for both parties. Being able to articulate the value we can bring and how that can benefit the customer. Propose innovative solutions, highlighting their benefits and ROI to clients. Act as the voice of the customer, relaying feedback to Engineering and Product teams to influence future roadmaps. Represent MediaKind at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, effectively showcasing our technology and solutions to potential clients, partners, and industry leaders. Skills and Qualifications Around 5 years proven experience in Sales Engineering or a similar customer-facing technical role within the media technology industry. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Media Technology or a related field is preferred. Strong digital-first SaaS mindset, with core expertise in OTT encoding and streaming technologies. An understanding of Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) platform technologies is also a plus. Customer-first approach, able to work and engage with customers to build trust and foster long term relationships. Understanding of core technologies, including video encoding, transport formats (TS, SRT, RIST), streaming formats (HLS, DASH), DRM, and CDN etc. Proven experience with APIs and the ability to write basic scripts to demonstrate how customers can integrate and use our solutions. Proficiency in Python and Golang is a plus. Practical experience with public cloud platforms; with an understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP being desirable. Cloud certifications are a plus. Strong communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to different types of audience using verbal, presentation and written skills. Agile approach to problem-solving, thinking outside the box, demonstrating how MediaKind’s solutions can be utilised to solve customer challenges. Able to work autonomously, being adaptable to manage time effectively in a dynamic business environment. An awareness of different commercial models (CapEx, metered, subscription, enterprise) and how they meet different customer needs. Willingness to travel globally, with a focus on Europe and the Middle East.
