Key Accountabilities:
1. Play an active role in supporting the quality team to ensure right first-time reporting of fruit quality at intake.
2. Close out corrective actions by making informed decisions regarding product quality.
3. Manage raw material to ensure age of stock is kept to a minimum and stock checks are conducted where necessary.
4. Develop and maintain High Risk Management calendars to ensure all quality risks are removed or suitably mitigated.
5. Maintain a daily dialog with the Avocado Technologist and customer technical manager to ensure quality risks are made visible and correct quality decisions are made in line with customer specifications.
6. Maintain a daily dialog with the ripening manager to ensure right first-time quality is both presented to the ripening team and fruit with right first-time quality is leaving the ripening chain.
7. Communicate stock quality concerns effectively, ahead of packing, to production and quality teams, ensuring they are aware of high-risk suppliers, varieties, and consignments. Clearly define which high-risk products require additional checks and at which point in the process.
8. Along with the other product managers, set out a clear defect training plan for the product and quality teams, building the material and delivering the training.
9. Actively provide advice, support, and guidance to the Quality Team. Organise briefing sessions, develop product/defect knowledge and review high risks/hot spots.
10. Take responsibility for the WFL shelf-life system analysis and performance, reporting at SKU and customer level. Share data with wider commercial and technical Avocado teams.
11. Monitor store temperature to ensure all fruit is being stored in the correct temperature regimes, escalate when stores are outside of tolerance.
12. Support other product managers with their products during periods of holiday and sickness.
13. Develop a program of leader standard work to ensure processes are adhered to and harvest good ideas.
14. Actively promote best practices in relation to Hygiene, Health & Safety standards, good housekeeping, and support the Company’s efforts to minimise its environmental impact and adopt environmental best practices.
15. Identify areas of improvement, opportunity, innovation, and communicate these to the relevant personnel.

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday, 08:30–17:00 plus 1 in 4 weekend working on rota.
Location: Spalding site based.
