About the Role: We have a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Manager at Rogerstone Park. It is a huge site employing around 1,600 people and is where we develop and produce a wide range of premium quality ready meals for major retail customers. This role is within our Meat Prep area, which is where meat coming to site is cooked and processed. It’s a complex, fast-paced part of the site which has recently benefited from significant investment, and you’d be leading a team covering a wide range of processes. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, your key responsibilities will include: Leading and motivating a direct team of 4 Shift Managers, working with them to ensure all departmental KPIs and objects are achieved. Full accountability for your area, including performance, quality, safety, finished goods, and GMP. Implementing the department’s one-year strategic plan, driving continuous improvement within the area. Coaching and mentoring your team, supporting them to ensure they achieve their objectives and are equipped with the skills required to develop and improve their own teams. Identifying areas for greater efficiencies, such as labour utilisation, quality, waste, materials, and packaging. This is a days based role, working Monday to Friday, although some flexibility may be required. About You: Leadership experience gained in chilled foods manufacturing. Ready meals would be ideal, but we’re looking for somebody with knowledge of complex products and processes. Experience of working in a high risk/high care environment. Experience of leading multi-function teams. Strong leadership skills, able to develop and motivate teams to drive performance. Demonstrable knowledge of business improvement tools and techniques. Used to high levels of NPD activity. Proactive approach, with a focus on continuous improvement.
