Main duties of the job
We acknowledge that we are living in very challenging times and our Trust has much work to do to improve our performance and improve services. We have made a significant start by responding to the findings of the CQC inspection. However, these are also exciting times as we begin to put in place plans for our future estate and facilities for our hospitals and services to support high quality services for our patients and staff. To support this vision the successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the development and implementation of the strategic elements of the Big Build business case in partnership with clinical, operational, finance and other key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Further the postholder will be responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and future-ready buildings that support patient care and staff wellbeing. This pivotal role offers the chance to shape the Trust's infrastructure and play a key role in strategic developments, including our Big Build strategy.
We are looking for a strategic thinker who is at ease to act as a spokesperson and ambassador for the Trust at various levels, build strong relationships with regulatory bodies, and foster a collaborative, values-driven culture within the Estates & Facilities team and across the Trust. This also includes the ability to lead, develop and foster strategic partnerships to work collaboratively for the good of our system.

Person Specification
Qualifications / Professional Registration
Essential
1. Master's degree or equivalent/proven post graduate level ability and experience.
2. Professional qualification to reflect the seniority of the role eg. Chartered Engineer Corporate member of IMECHe, CIBSE or IET.
3. Corporate membership of a relevant professional institution.
4. Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

1. Successful recent (within last five years) achievement record within a large, complex environment working within Estates or Property Services management.
2. Credible portfolio of estates management experience, including extensive knowledge and experience of safe operation and maintenance of critical engineering plant and equipment 24/7.
3. Experience of working in partnership with other agencies for collaborative outcomes.
4. Experience of developing and implementing long term strategic plans, including the reduction of energy consumption.
5. Providing board-level advice and guidance on estates strategic and operational issues, including preparation of building and engineering specifications and tendering procedures.
6. Extensive capital and revenue, pay and non-pay budget management experience within large, complex, including the delivery of cost improvement programmes.
7. Working closely and collaboratively with colleagues to ensure appropriate and adequate systems and controls are in place to monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and national assurance processes.
8. Successful experience in leading and managing transformational change in the workplace, including service redesign to review and improve the service delivery and policy development.

1. Experience of operating in a regional or national role delivering strategic estates programmes.
2. Experience of delivering programmes within NHS/Healthcare environment.
