About the Role
As the Head of Care, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the health care needs of individuals, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained, and leading a dedicated team. You will take responsibility for leading, developing, and supervising the care teams to enable individuals with brain injury to perform daily living functions, develop personal skills, and achieve their highest level of independence.
Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for the health care needs of individuals in the service and maintain the highest standards of care delivery.
* Lead, direct, and supervise the rehabilitation support teams in delivering person-centered care.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and relevant legislation.
* Lead assessments and referrals, and coordinate admission and discharge processes for individuals in the service.
* Lead on health promotion and ensure the delivery of evidence-based clinical care and safety.
* Oversee and ensure high-quality care, including leading audits, managing medication systems, and supporting quality assurance initiatives.
* Deputize for the Service Manager as required, ensuring smooth operations and continuity of care.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate care and support plans, ensuring that they are evidence-based and tailored to individual needs.
* Support training and development for the team, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
* Ensure that the service environment is safe, clean, and conducive to maximum independence and rehabilitation.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience:
* Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (RGN).
* Experience of managing a large team and working within rehabilitation or brain injury services.
* Proven experience of managing complex care/rehabilitation services.
* Experience of leading assessments and care planning, and delivering clinical interventions.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection process.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and external agencies.
