Join us as an Archive Administrative Assistant in the Academic Books department. Based in Cambridge, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient management and preservation of corporate archives, ensuring that materials are accurately catalogued and maintained for long-term research and organisational development. Please note that this position is for a fixed term contract until Dec 19^th 2025. About the role This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Archives team colleagues and colleagues associated with Archives work across the organisation Key responsibilities include:
* Processing and cataloguing physical archive materials.
* Conducting document preservation tasks such as scanning and digitisation.
* Providing administrative support for archive policy meetings and ensuring updates to key documentation.
* Managing routine archive deposits, applying industry standards for archival governance.
You will also contribute to the overall archive planning processes while working with confidential, valuable, and unique corporate assets. Training will be provided to support you in mastering preservation and retention evaluation.
It is essential that you y are:
* Organised and detail-oriented with prior administrative experience, preferably in archives, libraries, or corporate information management.
* Tech-savvy, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office and a strong aptitude for learning new systems.
* A great communicator, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
* Interested in history and archival work, appreciating the value of preserving both physical assets.
* Familiar with GDPR, Data Protection, and Freedom of Information legislation.
