Band 7 Secondment - Clinical Lead/ Deputy Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Enfield Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (ECRHTT) for a Band 7 Clinical Lead/Deputy Manager secondment post.
The Enfield CRHTT is a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week service which provides urgent care for people experiencing mental health crisis as an alternative to hospital admission. The team views crisis as meaningful, a crossroads in someone's life. We draw on several different models to understand this including family/systemic perspectives and the recovery model. The CRHT is crucial in delivering urgent crisis resolution assessments and treatment for service users by assessing their needs and caring for them in the least restrictive environment. The service will also ensure effective gatekeeping of all service users referred to the service for admission to Hospital. The post holder will ensure a high-quality responsive service to service users and referrers.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the single point of contact of referrals for people who are in mental health crisis within the London boroughs of Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey.
2. Have managerial accountability for the delivery of quality service for users of the ECRHTT.
3. Participate in the recruitment, selection & retention of staff.
4. Manage the CRHTT roster to ensure CRHTT is adequately staffed from within agreed establishment.
5. Assist team manager with line management and budgetary responsibility for clinicians and admin staff working in CRHTT.
6. Be responsible for effective clinical and managerial communication systems to, from and within the CRHTT.
7. Ensure effective triaging and screening of referrals and management of inappropriate referrals.
8. Provide expert clinical leadership to ensure a high standard of service to referrers and guidance to CRHTT.
9. Work closely and alongside all trust inpatient wards, DIT, Patient Flow, Psychiatric Liaison Teams and community services to ensure the best use of resources.
10. Work in partnership with the Internal Teams across the Trust as well as external referrers.
11. Liaise with professional external referrers and develop relationships e.g., GPs, police etc.
12. Ensure that there are effective support and supervision processes for staff working in ECRHTT.
13. Ensure robust Clinical Governance processes in CRHTT.

Job responsibilities
The Clinical Lead/Deputy team manager post is central to delivering development and effective operational management of the CRHTT.
The post holder will be expected to collaborate closely with the Team Manager, Service Manager, Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychological Therapies Lead.
The post holder is accountable for supporting the team manager with the allocation, deployment, prioritization and delivery of the service and for implementing and reviewing systems, policies, standards and procedures that ensure the provision of high-quality services within frameworks agreed by the Trust.
The post holder will work closely with the Team Manager to maintain the day-to-day running of the service, providing senior clinical input and support to the team, playing a key role in building internal and external interfaces with the Acute Inpatient wards, Psychiatric Liaison Teams, the AMPH service, Core Teams, the MHCAS, and contributing to the ongoing development of the Crisis Telephone Service to further improve patient experience and outcomes.

You will be expected to work a flexible shift pattern across 7 days including weekends and nights.
Person Specification
Qualifications/ Registrations
* Registered with NMC as RMN, or Dip SW, or registered with HPC.
* Mentorship qualification or equivalent.
* First or higher degree in appropriate subject area to specialisation or equivalent.
* Evidence of relevant post-registration training.
Skills/ Abilities
* Ability to identify health needs and facilitate appropriate access to relevant Trust services.
* Monitoring and evaluation skills.
* Possession and evidence of effective leadership skills.
* Ability and experience in managing/implementing local quality assurance systems in particular audit process.
* Evidence of excellent record keeping, experience of writing reports and acting as an advocate for service users.
* Ability to use appropriate strategies for managing performance.
* Ability to evidence current practice and knowledge of clinical, managerial and policy issues related to the clinical specialty and the wider NHS.
* Ability to develop and implement Policies and Procedures, leading on their implementation.
* Demonstrable ability to network internal and external to the Trust including the wider Health Service and health care providers including GPs.
Experience/ Knowledge
* Significant experience working within Mental Health Services at Band 6.
* Experience of working within a Mental Health Crisis service.
* Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and of involving users and carers ensuring culturally sensitive practice.
* Experience of identifying, initiating, implementing and managing effective practice.
* Knowledge of a full range of therapeutic skills and approaches.
* Effective screening/triage skills in relation to care needs of service users and their carers.
* Experience of developing and maintaining effective links with external agencies to enhance patient care.
* Experience of promoting and developing multidisciplinary team working within the team and working in a multi-agency environment.

£49,178 to £55,492 a year per annum including HCAS.
