AAT Qualified Accountant
Location: Altrincham
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £32,500 (Depending on Experience and Qualifications)
We are working with a successful and established accounting practice, seeking an AAT Qualified Accountant to join their busy Altrincham office on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Client Director, the successful candidate will be AAT qualified with at least 3 years’ experience working in an accounting practice environment with a full UK driving license. This role would suit a candidate who is looking for a hands-on, client-facing role with a dynamic and growing accountancy practice, with opportunities to develop and progress within the firm.
Role duties and responsibilities:
1. Supporting the accounts portfolio managers to service clients.
2. The role will predominantly be a mix of bookkeeping, VAT return preparation, preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, preparation of corporation tax computations and returns.
3. Some personal tax although this is not the main focus.
4. Building a positive working relationship with clients and the practice.
5. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal procedures.
6. Day to day use of computer software including IRIS, Sage, Xero and Quickbooks.
7. Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and on time.
8. Dealing with any client queries in a timely and efficient manner.
9. Undertake such other duties that are required commensurate with the role.
The ideal candidate:
1. AAT qualified with excellent practical experience of bookkeeping and accounts.
2. Exceptional interpersonal skills and able to successfully communicate with people at all levels, both financial and non-financial.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Good working knowledge of Sage, Xero, IRIS and Microsoft.
5. Work as part of a team.
6. Confidently able to offer recommendations and advice to their clients.
7. Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
8. A full UK driving license is essential.
