Contractor Finance sits within Operational Finance, part of the Finance, Corporate Governance and Legal Services Directorate, and is responsible on behalf of the territorial Health Boards for making all practitioner payments to GP Practices, Community Pharmacies, Dispensing Doctors, Appliance Suppliers, Dentists and Optometry Practices throughout Scotland, which amounts to ca £3.2bn per annum.
This role will provide support to the National Finance Manager and the Head of Contractor Finance.
The Post:
This is an exciting opportunity to support the Finance, Corporate Governance and Legal Services Directorate to deliver its strategic objectives and to be a key member of the Contractor Finance team supporting the corporate position across National Services Scotland (NSS).
Working within the Contractor Finance team you will have the opportunity to bring your unique skills and experience to the table, collaborating across multiple workstreams to effect real change within NSS, and further afield.
The Candidate:
You will possess excellent financial acumen and data analytics capability, dealing with large volumes of data. You will have an eagerness to learn about our exciting, fast-moving, organisation and the ability to work at pace. You will be able to work autonomously and play a positive active role leading projects.
A Finance Analyst who offers a broad range of skills and experience, if you are CCAB or CIMA qualified (or recognised international equivalent) and can offer some or all of these:
1. Proven experience of financial analysis and forecasting in a large, complex environment
2. Ability to confidently lead and understand business needs and take a proactive approach to planning and prioritising workload whilst maintaining accurate and up to date financial records and have the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly to produce high quality outcomes
3. Ability to analyse large data sets for reporting and decision-making purposes, ensuring attention to detail is maintained
4. Highly effective communicator knowing how to make complex financial information and language simple for a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders (both verbally and in writing)
5. Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise workload and that of your team, and to meet strict deadlines
6. Extensive Line Management experience
