Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate and further develop excellent clinical dermatology skills. You will be expected to lead on a specific subspecialty dermatology service and support key areas of dermatology including undertaking nurse led clinics, supporting junior staff to learn and develop and partake in the nursing management of the department, working with the Lead Nurse. The role will involve undertaking investigations, potentially including skin biopsy, providing dermatology treatments, administering medication, leading a specialist dermatology service working alongside the medical team and nursing colleagues.

Applicants will be expected to have a minimum of two years’ experience in a dermatology setting. Developmental opportunities will be offered within the department, as well as outside of the organisation. The post holder will need to demonstrate sound decision making and leadership skills, in order to manage their own workload and that of junior staff. Applicants are expected to be flexible and adaptable to the requirements of the department and service needs.
We work in a friendly team orientated environment with specific dermatology facilities and have sound working relationships with multidisciplinary team members. Services core working hours is am to pm Monday to Friday. Working hours will be per week with flexible shift patterns between Monday to Friday with no bank holidays or night duty.
