Quality Inspector - Blackburn Area
Rate: £19.50p/h Umbrella; OR, £16.25p/h PAYE (Incl. hol. pay)
Contract: 3-month contract / Temp-to-perm
We are collaborating with a client in Blackburn seeking an experienced Mechanical Quality Inspector. As a Quality Inspector, you will oversee inspection processes to verify compliance with stringent quality standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out first off, FAIRS and batch inspections
2. Provide reports to managers on parts which affect the Quality System
3. Ensure all documentation and calibration of equipment is correct
4. Ensure that all inspection standards, as agreed with customers’ specifications, are carried out effectively
5. Assistance with technical disputes with other department managers and operators
6. Ensure full compliance of the company quality system with the requirements of our international standards ISO 9001 & AS9100, and in line with customer approvals
7. Support system improvement project teams to ensure product flow is maintained and best practices are achieved
Requirements:
1. Experience in mechanical inspection and quality control
2. MRP/ERP system experience at an Inspector level (Epicor, SAP, Sage etc.)
3. C&G or NVQ L2/3 time served in manufacturing/engineering disciplines
4. AS9100 & BS9001 Quality standards preferable
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
6. Ability to understand and correctly interpret drawings
7. Knowledge of manufacturing methods, quality system design and documentation
8. Experience of manufacturing processes such as hardness, conductivity, tensile and electrical bond testing would be preferable, but not essential
Benefits:
1. 4 day working week (7:15am-5:00pm Mon-Thurs) 37hrs p/w
2. Overtime rates 1.5x on Friday & Saturdays, 2x on Sundays
