My client is the rapidly growing European subsidiary of a global Film company who specialise in lighting, rigging, generators, etc. They also own film studies as well as facilitate studios for other organisations.
They seek a reliable, self-motivated individual to work as a Handyperson as part of their Facilities department. You need to be highly organised and disciplined.
Key Duties
Minor repair works building fabric, such as door handles, lights, etc
Small painting works to internal and external areas
Ad-hoc weeding of landscaped and car park areas, to include putting down weed killer
Repairing minor potholes/damage to car park areas on an Ad-hoc basis
Assist studio management team with daily tasks linked to site and production
Carry out emergency lighting flick tests, Monthly hot and cold-water temperature recording, weekly flushing of infrequently used outlets
Provide site supervision for visiting contractors and engineers
Keep detailed records of onsite activities, mainly via Share Point
Work closely with the security and cleaning company on day-to-day service and supplies
Person Specification
Must hold a valid UK driving license and able to commute.
Must be IT literate and be able to use basic Microsoft operating systems.
Some experience in a building / facilities environment, working with contractors and suppliers.
Desired but not essential - Skills/training/qualifications in basic building maintenance (painting, electrical, plastering etc.).
Be willing to help onsite clients and be friendly and polite always.
Must be able to confidently communicate with all Studio visitors providing and receiving information, instruction, and advice.
Must be able to work under pressure to changing deadlines.
Be willing to help in all departments of The Studios and have the enthusiasm to learn.
Be self-motivating and organised.
Be able to build strong working relationships with colleagues.

Working hours 40 hours per week from 07:00 to 20:00 Monday to Saturday inclusive. Additional weekend and evening working is sometimes required.
