Quality Assurance Technician - Food Production
Location: Llyn Peninsula, North Wales
Pay: £13.54 per hour

We are an established recruitment agency working with a renowned food production company that specialises in premium fruit preserves and savoury sauces. Our client, based in North Wales, is expanding rapidly and seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to support their team in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and product quality.
The Role:
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will assist in monitoring the manufacturing and packing processes, ensuring all products meet stringent quality and safety standards. You will work closely with the Technical and General Managers to ensure compliance with the Quality and Food Safety Management systems, BRC standards, food safety legislation, and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor operations and verify that key parameters and critical control points are within safe limits through testing and assessment.
2. Record and organise test results and data, ensuring accurate documentation of all processes.
3. Quarantine materials that do not meet the agreed standards.
4. Calibrate testing equipment, such as metal detectors, pH meters, digital thermometers, and balances.
5. Take corrective actions when necessary and communicate findings to Managers and colleagues.
6. Conduct site audits for hygiene, housekeeping, stock rotation, HACCP, and Quality Management Systems.
7. Assist in improving product quality through sensory evaluation and performance discussions.
8. Support the Technical Manager in maintaining Quality Management Systems and HACCP plans.
9. Train and mentor team members as required.
About You:
1. Previous experience in Quality Assurance within a food production environment is essential.
2. Knowledge of HACCP, Auditing, and Food Safety Level 2 qualifications.
3. Strong skills in numeracy, literacy, and communication.
4. High attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures and instructions.
5. Adaptable, flexible, and a team player with the ability to work independently.
6. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
7. Clean and smart appearance with excellent personal hygiene.
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 7:45am - 4:15pm
Friday: 7:45am - 3:30pm
Some overtime may be required during busy periods.

Location & Requirements:
1. The role is based at a factory on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula in North Wales, easily accessible via the A499 between Pwllheli and Caernarfon.
2. The role requires the ability to reliably commute or relocate before starting work.
3. UK work authorisation is required.
