An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at The Elms as SENDCo.
The most important element of the job is to ensure that the needs of the pupils with special educational needs and disabilities are met. The children at the Elms are encouraged to reach their full potential at all different academic levels. This role is pivotal in creating an atmosphere where the children are keen to work their hardest. It requires commitment, a sense of humour, an eye for detail, great communication skills, and creativity. They should also be prepared to contribute to the wider life of this busy rural prep school, which continues to be committed to Saturday school.
School Information
Set in the Malvern Hills, The Elms is in a stunning location and is the oldest (1614) prep school still on its original site. While retaining all that is good about a traditional prep school education, the school is modern in its thinking and development of its pupils. The School is a vibrant, demanding, and supportive environment which encourages pupils and staff to be involved in a broad range of activities and interests. Art, Drama and Music are especially strong, and the School has an excellent reputation for Sport. There is the school’s farm, where children interact with pigs, sheep, cows, goats, and poultry. The Elms School is a vibrant and happy community with a great sense of purpose and collegiality, where the knowledge of each child as an individual is at the heart of the school. The aim of the school is to embrace childhood, whilst giving every child a sense of adventure and willingness to try new things and be the best version of themselves. The children go onto a variety of senior schools both in the area, and across the UK.
